Image-to-image starts from a picture you upload. You describe what should change and what should stay, and the AI returns a new version. It is the fastest way to restyle a photo, swap a background or try a variation of a product shot.

How to edit an image with AI
- Open the Generate page and add a reference image (JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 8 MB).
- In the prompt, describe the change, for example “replace the background with a sunny beach”.
- Also say what must stay the same, for example “keep the face and the logo unchanged”.
- Press Generate. Image-to-image follows the same whole-batch rule as text-to-image: if free quota covers every image, each uses one free generation. Otherwise, the whole batch costs image count × 1 credit, keeping unused free quota.
- Compare the result with the original, then refine with “AI edit this image” if one detail is still off.
Good edits to try
- Background swap: put a product on marble, wood or a plain studio backdrop
- Style transfer: turn a photo into watercolor, anime, clay or pixel art
- Clean-up: remove clutter, change the lighting or the season
- Variations: the same product in a new color or a new scene
Tips for image-to-image
- Use a sharp, well-lit source image; the AI cannot recover detail that is not there.
- Change one thing at a time. Several small edits beat one long list.
- Spell out what to keep. Without it the AI may redraw parts you liked.
- Only upload images you have the right to use, and nothing you do not want processed by a third-party image API.
FAQ
Is the reference image saved?
The reference image is sent to the image API to make the result. It is not kept in drafts, so you upload it again for a new session. Results of logged-in users are saved to My Gallery.
How is editing charged?
Reference-image generation follows the same whole-batch charging rule as text-to-image. AI edit this image also uses Prompt Agent analysis, which requires sign-in and has its own free uses or credit cost, separate from image generation. Check the assistant cost and the final generation cost before confirming.
Can I edit a result again?
Yes. Use “AI edit this image” on any result to keep going from that version.
Which file types work?
JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF up to 8 MB. SVG is not supported.
